Shannon McWhorter, MS
Outside of Goshen, Shannon is an avid ambassador for pediatric cancer research funding, specifically for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Shannon is the Program Director for our STEMKAMP project. She comes to Goshen Education as a former high school math teacher and adjunct math instructor at Southwestern Illinois College and Southern Illinois University. Shannon graduated from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville with both her BS SecEd degree (majoring in mathematics, minoring in English) and her MS SecEd -Mathematics degree. Shannon works out of our main office in Edwardsville, Illinois.
In the past, Shannon has helped to direct summer camps as well as a successful summer swimming program. Those experiences, along with her classroom teaching experience, have equipped her to come on board as our STEMKAMP program director where she oversees the implementation of STEMKAMP at the district level, reviews and approves yearly curriculum, and maintains contact with potential and future funders of the project.
